I told myself I would follow less football this coming season but inevitably found myself checking the news about signings and watching the pre-season highlights on YouTube. Man Utd have been playing like Barcelona since losing to them in the Champions League final. I thought we won the Premiership last season without playing particularly well throughout much of it. In fact if Chelsea hadn't sacked Ray Wilkins and bought Torres they probably would have won it by a mile. But now, suddenly, United are playing at a new level. Traditionally slow starters, if we carry on with this form we could be in a very strong position by Christmas. Great goals today, great spirit, beautiful football.
